Happy Birthday Breast Cancer Hawaii!!

It’s time to celebrate! Happy Birthday to us! As quoted by Oprah, “The more you CELEBRATE YOUR LIFE, the more there IS IN LIFE TO CELEBRATE.” And we do… We have so much to be thankful for and celebrating life is just the icing on the cake.

This October marks our first birthday for Breast Cancer Hawaii. This year has been amazing. Joanne and I started out with an idea to start a website that would help others in our community -- from creating an event calendar to sharing information that we find elsewhere. Today, we have grown to sharing not only our own experiences through our blog, but also sharing stories from local survivors; and spreading awareness through our Facebook page and Instagram.

We have also been active in our community – meeting healthcare workers, co-survivors, and survivors in various events; such as, Celebrate Me Event at Kapiolani Women Center and Let’s Go Pink Breast Cancer Fair at Queen’s Medical Center. We have been blessed to be given these opportunities to share what we have learned and continue to learn throughout our journey.

We would like to thank everyone for their support, especially to our family who have always been there for us. As we move on to our next year, we will continue to provide you resources and continue to share with you our journey as we CELEBRATE LIFE!
